Summertrends: No. 6

The last trend I wanted to show you is African Spirit. Last winter the leopard and animal print trend was huge and it seems to be a trend for this summer to (I think leopard will never go out of style though!).
Not only you can use the animal print but other etnical prints work great as well. If you don't like to wear prints then you can easily 'africanise' your outfit by wearing lots of bracelets, huge earrings and maybe a scarf or a turban.
Don't know how to use a scarf? See the video's below. Have fun!

Outfit of the day: Back to the seventies

Today I want to take you back to the seventies!

It's the time I grew up in: the sixties was done but left some beautiful things like flowers, free spirits and some fashion influences. Clogs, platform shoes, maxi-dresses, long hair, green, brown and orange colors, crazy prints and palazzo pants. And what about home styling? Remember the printed wallpapers, like sunsets and hawaïn scenes? Oh and don't forget the tv shows like Charlie's Angels and Starsky & Hutch?
Well, today I take you back to that feeling with my
wannabee Missoni dress. I just love it!

Summertrends: No. 4

How I love the maxi-dress! I guess I have at least 8 of them in my closet. I do not only wear them in summertime but with the right styling it will pull you through winter as well.

I love it because it's so effortless. Put one over your head and your done! You don't even have to shave your legs, nobody can see them anyway ;-)

You can wear them with heels or flats, but be carefull with stilletto's: before you know it they make nasty holes in your dress.

Here are some OOTD shots with my favourite maxi's.
The first one is H&M (regular line and last year's) and the blue one is by Asos (still available).

Summertrends: No. 3

The third trend I wanted to show you is nude. If you follow my blog you know that I'm really into nude colors these days. See here.

Don't think it makes you pale because there is a nude color for everyone. You have whites, cremes, salmon, taupe, beige and pink nudes. It depends on your skintone. I like to spice my nudes up with a little color, like maybe red.

I love this picture, it's a perfect combination of colors.

What do you think? Nude yay or nay?

Outfit of the day: Once upon a time...

Once upon a time there was a white skirt... Oh, How I love my white skirt! It's very long, very easy to wear and goes with almost everything in my closet. I bought it last year after my other one litteraly died. This one almost did because I was stupid enough to ride my bike with it. It got stuck between my wheel and it had little holes in it. Lucky for me I could fix it. There are still some little holes in the back but nobody notices them.

I'm changing the colors of my wardrobe these days and I must say I like it. I discovered that the nude trend is a good one for me and I like to spice it up with some bright lipstick and nails.

The blazer: I think I tried it on at least 3 times until I finally decided to buy it. Don't know why I hecitated to take it because this is a multi-functional piece.
The boots on the other hand I bought in 5 minutes; I needed some flatter heels to easily make some miles. And they look great with pants as well.

Summertrends: No. 2

The second trend I wanted to show you is Flowers.
Tiny flowers, big flowers, bright colors or pastels. You can go all the way and mix and match flowerprints in one outfit or you can just put a flower in your hair or just go for the shoes.
The palazzo pants are becoming a trend as well and so are the maxidresses but I save that for the next post.

I really like my flowers because they make me happy!

Summertrends: No. 1

With all the new collections in stores right now I wanted to show you some trends for this summer.

Trend 1: Color blocking.
If you like color, this is the season for you! Anything goes as long as it's colorfull, printless and your outfit contains at least 3 colors.

It's not exactly my cup of tea but when I saw this picture of Stephanie of the blog Big Beauty wear it I must say I like it and maybe give it a try sometime.

Last winter you saw some color blocking already and my guess is that it stretches out until next winter.

What do you say: color blocking, yes or no?
